It's been so long, but I am up early for a Sunday. Grant and Audrie are still asleep...at some point in the night she snuck in bed next to him :) Somehow it's cuter on Father's Day :) I couldn't let the opportunity pass to give Grant a little shout out on his special day as we celebrate him as a dad!

Happy Father's Day Grant! You are patient and kind. You never are quick to anger with these two special spirits. You love and serve. You always want us to have fun as a family...and it always is fun with you in the room! You are sweet and caring. You always think of the kids and how we are doing throughout the day. You are silly and a big kid. What better friend is there for your kids than your hero, your dad?!? You, Grant, are great! We love you and appreciate all you do for our family!

It's November 1st!?!?! I didn't even get a chance to get Audrie's birthday pictures up until almost a month later...good thing I have an excuse, right?.....

1st Trip to the Lake

We went to the lake as a family of 4 for the 1st time Thursday evening. It was fun to have a picnic with Grandma & Grandpa Turley & the Foss Fam. We watched daddy wakeboard and Audrie and mom love to cheer when he jumps really high. Blake almost missed everything, but I woke him to steal some pictures of him in front of the beautiful water...it won't be long before he is following in his daddy's bindings :)

Both my kids were sleeping and Grant was running by 8:00 so I just nailed two posts! Man I am amazing myself at all I am getting done today! I guess when you don't have time to be lazy, you just keep on going. Bye Bye pregnancy schedule...hello two kids :)

I instantly thought Blake had a different look. I see the resemblance, but they are different to me...what do you think?

For 5 weeks early, Audrie had a fuller face and Blake has a lot more hair. I see the most resemblance in their eyes. I'll have to compare again in a few weeks...these are not the best pictures, but they were the best I could match up.

How to make this short & sweet...oh wait it was! I had been having stronger contractions two days before my induction day and was so glad to make it to Wednesday (Dr. Lowder was away until Tuesday night). We woke up bright and early...5:00 am induction and we got started with everything around 6:15. I was at a 3 and as soon as they gave me the pit, I was off and kicking...HARD! By 6:45 I didn't think I would make it any longer without an epidural! I got my epidural at 7:10....which took until about 7:30 to finish and it just barely started to dull the pain when Dr. Lowder came in to break my water...oh never mind...I'll do that myself again :) So he checked me and said "We've gotta move!" I had been feeling crazy pressure and knew Blake was already coming. I watched a lot of scrambling...not the slow and steady I had experienced with Audrie's delivery. Two big pushes and a few little stop and go's and out came our beautiful baby boy! A little bundle that we had taken bets on...I must have looked a lot bigger cause he was a whopper of 6lbs 6 oz! Oh the little ones I have, but this time our baby was in our arms in less time than I had to blink. Our family didn't even get a chance to make it to the hospital to wait outside. He waited to come, but then made up time! He even came JUMPING! I will have to upload it with Grant's help, but when they were doing his stats and checking him out he repeatedly pushed off the table and did 4 little jumps! He's strong and all boy!

Seeing Audrie come into the room was a tender moment for me...She is a beautiful little girl and to see her almost 3 little self (all smiles) come to meet her baby brother brought such emotion I can't express. I am so blessed to have these two sweet children of our Heavenly Father and I know he blessed all of us to experience this healthy birth. We could not be more grateful, more proud, or more in love! But there is a lot more in store and I know it's going to be a wonderful journey!

Here he is day one...and there are plenty more to come!

I don't sleep much these nights so yes it is late and now our little guy is too! :)
Friday was my official due date and there is no sign of baby. I am very happy to have made it to my due date and feel so blessed to have carried this baby to term. Thank you to all our friends and family that have been concerned and have prayed for our little one to arrive at a healthier week. He and his sister are already complete opposites the way they are entering the world. She could not wait to get here and he is "getting special instructions" as my mom says. :) He will be arriving September 9th 2009 if he doesn't decide to come on his own. (Although I have been telling him to hold out cause my doctor is out of town...eek!) So 9.9.09 will be a special day for our family and we are excited to meet this special little guy. We will keep you updated. Thanx again for all of your love and support. I had A LOT of help getting this far!

Yeah I'm 34 weeks and our boy's room is feeling complete! I didn't have anything but the crib up in Audrie's room when she came so I am really excited! There are still some pieces missing to make it finished...I am going to hang a picture of Grant wake boarding on a wall and a large first letter of his name on another wall. Audrie is a big helper when we work on baby brother's room. She has her own hammer (thanx Grandma Brown!) and copies all that we do. I told her we needed to take pictures of baby brother's room and then we would take pictures of her big girl room...I never did show her big girl bed transition. So without rambling any more...here are my kiddos rooms :)

Baby Boy's Room

It's a mountain theme...camo, a tent canopy, bears, trees, pine cones, and stars. Grant wake boarding on Donnelly Lake will look great on a wall for his son to get some early inspiration. :) And Grandpa Brown is working on his 1st antler lamp for this boy. I just love the way it turned out!

Audrie's Room

It was just pink and brown as a nursery, but we found this bedding with green and teal and love adding more color! I found the 3 little lanterns at Pier 1 and they light up so we use them as nightlights. The dresser I had in my room at home and I sanded it down, painted it pink and brown, and now it holds all her little keepsakes and books. She loves her big bed and redecorating all the stickers on the wall. :) They used to be a border, but she likes to rearrange them and that's alright with me.

Now for a little my space...
I had to get our LARGE mirrors that covered two walls in our bathroom switched to something more elegant and not so LARGE (especially as I have changed haha). I found these framed mirrors at Graples and love the way they dress up our vanities. Thanx for all your help Dave & Kathleen! These mirrors are heavy and it wasn't an easy switch-a-roo!

I also hung 3 memo/picture boards (from Kohl's ladies) that are wonderful for hanging your jewelry. I used one for Audrie's hair bows too in another bathroom. Just working on getting rid of cluttery spaces. Am I nesting or what?!?!

Getting ready for baby brother!

We have reached 33 weeks and are getting ready for this little guy! The nursery is almost done...just need to get a few things on the walls. So pictures will be coming soon. I had sooo much fun getting his room ready. Let's just say it's inspired by Grandpa Brown :)

I had an appointment last week and we are shooting to make it 4 more weeks. Keeping thoughts positive and laying low as much as possible! I am feeling really good! He is in a comfortable spot and very busy! I feel him moving more than not...love the elbow and the rolls!

We went to the mall the other night and Grant decided that Audrie needed to make baby brother his very own bear at Build-a-Bear :) She is so attached to her bear and it was special for her to make one for her brother. We even made a wish together and placed it inside. She loved holding him and then putting him in his bed to wait for him to come cuddle.

We had a nice Father's Day...no fits of course because it's Daddy's day :) Audrie loved giving dad his card she made and his and her nerf dart guns! :) She loves her daddy and I love how sweet their relationship is. It's good to be a mom watching my little girl look up to her dad. (I am a daddy's girl after all)

Last year I fell in love with this show & I am sooooo happy it's back!
Baby Boy loves it too! He was active every time the music was on.

So already this post is too long for the time I have to be on the computer....:( I miss bloggin! I still have Mother's Day, Disneyland, and random cutes of Audrie to catch up on. But for now...we are working on our backyard, potty training, watching the belly grow, & enjoying summertime!

This was on a girl's blog I used to cheer with...not only was I laughing, laughing, laughing, (it is Ellen) but happy to hear someone else having the insomnia problems that I have been having with this pregnancy!!! She is having a boy too....is this just preparation to get ready for a wild little guy who will demand me to be up day and night?!?! Oh the nights I slept sooooooo good being pregnant with Audrie. Those days are gone!

We are soooo excited to be blessed with a little boy!
Audrie started off saying she wanted a boy...she must have known :) They are going to get along great since she knows all about cars, dinosaurs, and dirt!

I'm all boy!!!

Here are a few ultrasound pictures in 4D, which was really cool to see! He was a wiggler so they are a little distorted.

We caught him rubbing his eye and his little fingers would spread out.

So amazing how defined we can get images now...he's only the size of a soda can.

Well I'm beat! I have had a great few days of lots of energy, but I am feeling the drain tonight! Too much yard work, but I can't keep myself out of the sunshine! Time to put baby and mama to bed! Enjoy this beautiful week everyone!!!

Audrie and I were coloring before bed and I told her it was time to go up and read stories. I kid you not...this is what she said!

"Mommy 4 more minutes."

a little shocked I said,"No 2 minutes."

"hmmm 3 minutes?"

Where did she learn that? I haven't started to give her the minute warnings yet. I am still stunned because not only did she pull that, right now she is asleep with no crying or even the slightest fuss in her big girl bed for the 1st time! We worked all afternoon to get her room clean, the crib turned into a big girl bed, and adding a friend to sleep with... a little baby goldfish. She told me she missed "Boo" her last goldfish when we were at Petsmart the other day. So I couldn't resist getting her a little friend to keep her company as we try this new transition. My girl is really growing up! I love all the fun conversations we have been having & and I can't wait to see what her little mind will think up next!

I finally gave into cutting her baby hair away! Grant has wanted to have her hair cut for a few months now...I've held on to my baby.

She's 2 1/2 and we went for a big girl haircut from Aunt Jenni yesterday. I went first so she could see everything and then when it was her turn she let Jenni do it all. I think she liked the hair wash the best. She looked so relaxed :)

All we want is sleep...and comfort

Hello!!! I'm alive! March was not the best to me so I haven't had much to blog about. To quickly sum it up...food poisoning & a nasty nasty 2 week cold....Audrie has been well, but suffered from the lack of a functioning mom. I am feeling great now and it's April 1st :) Bring on SPRING!!!

I did have to post about what else we have been dealing with in March...what do nighttime, planes, and Audrie create? Lots of anxiety and little sleep. That is a new fear. She used to loooove the planes and would pick one out of the sky and wave at it. That has all changed. We have been on a plane...last September we flew to Missouri and she loved it. Now she covers her ears and comes to me terrified during the day and gets really panicky at night. For 4 nights it was just continual tantrum after bedtime routine with getting out of her crib over and over....and over again. The tantrums have stopped, but she still gets her little head worried and we have seen her multiple times in the night. Always pointing to the window and telling us "a plane scare me" (break your heart!)
While I was sick, if she woke up in the night, Grant would sleep with her in the guest bed. This quickly became a habit to make her sleeping in her bed a battle. She would tell me "I don't wannit...(her bed) Want Daddy's bed!" With the stubburnist face...I would have to turn away and laugh! Well she does want to sleep with her daddy when she wakes up now...but she sometimes will lay back down in her bed, but will be back awake in a few hours. So if we are too tired to deal with the multiple times a night...or if we all want to sleep in, she has our loveseat at the foot of the bed. It's too hard for me to turn my brain back off in the middle of the night and I do refuse her sleeping in our bed...she will sleep wonderfully, but Grant and I get pushed both ways out of our own bed.
We have had one night of being able to get her settled back to sleep and the rest of our mornings look like this....She is really comforted by being close to us at night. I can't say I blame her. She's all the way upstairs and the anxiety she was expressing scared me. I may not have the best way of dealing with what a 2 year old throws our way, but if she can just get back to sleeping comfortably, my mind will be more at ease.
I am happy to be doing this post because these pictures were taken this morning and she made it 10 hours through the night. Grant & Audrie slept in while I had to snap pictures and finally get back to blogging...about something! :)

Really...cleaning over ice cream?!?!?

My parents got Audrie this cleaning cart for Christmas and I finally put batteries in the vacuum! That night she cleaned the whole loft! (I only wish it really sucked up things!) :) We decided we would go get some ice cream and we asked her twice if she wanted to go. Her reply was quick..."no I want to clean!" Wow! I couldn't believe it! She even woke up the next morning to clean. I can promise I don't clean that much!

Tonight she didn't need to clean anymore, we were able to go get ice cream :)

There are some days that I just look at this girl and get knocked down by how much she amazes me. She is the sweetest little thing on two legs. I saw my ticker of how old she is and she is on her way to 2 1/2 already!

I love how she walks around on her little phone and has a conversation and laughs
I love how we go screaming around the house running away from our scary doggie

I love how she says "you scared me" when we play hide and seek

I love how much she teaches me to be more loving, patient, & humble

Really my little Audrie...I love every little thing about you! You are growing up on us soooo fast and these are the things I never want to forget. There are so many things I love about you!

Audrie's 1st Snowgirl

Tuesday was a nice day with lots of snow so Audrie and I bundled up to go outside and make a snowgirl. We started rolling...and rolling...and rolling and nothing was happening. Little did I know that the snow was not very easy to pack because it was too dry, but I was determined to make one with Audrie before Christmas! I had to bring buckets of water outside to wet the snow down. 2 hours later!!! We have this cute little snowgirl (not much bigger than Audrie) that was made with a lot of effort and love :)

So little ones don't read...pssst that means Carter & Spencer...

Audrie's Papa Turley dressed up as Santa for their ward Christmas party this year and we didn't wake up early enough to make it. Well on Sunday Santa came to see Audrie! He walked around the corner and I was not sure how she would react really...I thought we might get nervous Audrie who likes to hide from strange men talking to her. But as soon as she saw him, she said "Papa...ho ho ho!" Crack up!!! She knows her Papa and now she knows Santa. When we see any Santa, it's "Papa!" I'm sure we will be able to convince her next year that Santa really is a jolly old man who lives at the North Pole and watches you to see if you are nice...we will see. She has an amazing memory, but is also pretty easy to reason with. I wouldn't have traded this sweet experience for Santa remaining a stranger. It was super sweet!

Tuesday - ended up with a bad reaction from my eyebrow wax. I don't really know why...never had it happen before...think it may have been too hot...

Wednesday & Thursday - Audrie got her 1st cough. :( We've been home in P.J.'s all week, waking up every few hours in the night, and watching a lot of movies. We both enjoyed Madagascar and now we can take her to Madagascar 2 (when she's feeling better)

Friday - Wasn't sure if I was going to make it to see twilight this week. Ended up at the 4:30 showing with my family. Loved it! I went without too high of expectations. I knew I would love the book first anyways.

Friday through Monday - we get to enjoy Colleen & Claire who came for a weekend visit. Claire is such a doll & I just love having Colleen here!

Saturday - my girl is feeling better! Her happy face is back :) (Now we just have to hope that I don't get it...I was sneezed and coughed on A LOT!...but somehow it just doesn't matter when you are trying to comfort her. I still hope I don't get it though!)

It was a week...looking forward to a fresh start and a happy Thanksgiving!!! :)

Random Cute #1 - BOOTS
Audrie is a shoe girl. She wears my shoes all the time, but I think her favorite are boots. Time to get her another pair of boots for the winter. Oh and I love that somehow she is never wearing pants with the boots! What a fashion statement!

When my parents heard Audrie was going to be Tinkerbell for Halloween, they took some time to spoil her. They bought her the new Tinkerbell movie, a Tinkerbell doll, and a giant Cars color book...well my dad had to throw in something not so girly. Audrie loves them. I wanted to sit down and watch the movie with her so we made it a girl's night at Aunt Jenni's. It was a cute show and I am a sucker for Disney so I loved it just as much as Audrie did.

The Elders Quorum Halloween Party was a hit! We really didn't know what to dress up as so we went to the Goodwill and rounded up anything we could find. Grant ended up as a "wild thing" something...and I was a "classy lady" whatever. (Wild Thing & Classy Lady were on our shirts) It was fun seeing everyone else and there costumes. There were a lot of clever costumes! We played games and ate yummy treats. It was a fun night!

More Fall Fun!

We decided to clean out our pumpkins for the Turley Family Halloween party early this year. We always get together to dress up, carve pumpkins, have yummy food, and play games. Cleaning out the pumpkins is always the hardest part, so we will have more time for fun this year. We made it a Family Home Evening activity.

Audrie didn't want to touch the pumpkin goo...I don't blame her :) She would much rather hold a yummy warm pumpkin chocolate chip cookie and a glass of milk! Cleaning out pumpkins made me crave these! YUM YUM!!!

Ward Fall Hoedown

When they said we were having a couples fall hoedown for our ward party, we took it as a time to dress up...it is almost Halloween! I was going for something simple, but if you know Grant, he always turns it into something funny! He pieced this getup together an hour before the party. Went to his dad's for a cowboy hat, boots, and belt buckle. The boots didn't fit so he decided to cut up some old holey jeans and wear his hikin boots...with sock pulled up.
We arrived at the church...always a few minutes late (we are working on it!) and that gave everyone a chance to see Grant walk across the gym. He made everyone laugh! I think they were a little shocked mainly because there weren't more than a few hats and some bandannas. What can I say we love to get into it :) We had LOTS of chili, yummy deserts, and danced! Yes I pulled him up to line dance! We had a blast!

A Good Deal To Me

First of all I have to say, there is no official reason as to why I am buying new baby bottles. I just stumbled on this deal when I went into Babies R Us the other day for a BPA free cup for Audrie. I have been meaning to get her one for her water, not super concerned about going completely BPA free! As I was asking a gal some questions, it came up that they will take back any old AVENT bottles for an upgrade to the BPA Free bottles (of any brand, Brown's, Born Free, AVENT). I was so excited because most of my bottles are so worn out. Audrie drank from them for 18 months...and abused them in the 8-18 month stage. So I got $100 worth of BPA free bottles for $50. It's a bit of an upgrade, but when I factor in that I probably would have spent some money on new bottles for another baby...someday...I figure it's great to have safe new bottles the next go around. So if you are interested in BPA free I would hit up Babies R Us while this offer is available. They said they won't be doing it for long.

Grandma & Grandpa Turley were saving this pile of leaves for Audrie to play in. She had a ball with grandpa as he showed her how to throw the leaves. It's fall and all the colors are so beautiful! I love this time of the year!

For Family Night, we went to the pumpkin patch! How fun was it to search for your pumpkins?!?! Sure beats digging through the store bins...I can never get down past the first few layers. We had so much fun on the hay ride, visiting the animals, searching for pumpkins, riding the barrel ride, eating popcorn, and of course spending time with grandma & papa Turley! :)

Taking baby for a walk

It was a beautiful day today! I am so happy when the sun is out! :) And when it's sunny we go for long walks. Audrie wanted to walk her baby today. It was so cute! I love watching her tuck in the blanket and then a few minutes later she will say "it hot" and take it off of the baby. What a little mommy! :) We walked to our favorite spot, a small canal that runs along the front of our neighborhood, where we throw rocks. (Audrie knows that the water is a "no, no, no!!!" she shakes her finger at it as Papa has taught her well) The water is pretty much tried up so we now find big rocks to sit on and throw rocks into the shallow puddles that are left. Audrie is such an outdoor girl. She loves to explore! This little outing we do often is special to me because it's something I used to do with my dad as a kid. He loves a good hike and our close to home hikes were dried up canals. I see so much of his love for the outdoors in Audrie! Oh simple sweet memories!

Audrie loves to be up on the counter when I make meals. She helps pour things in for mixing, stir, hands me things, and really likes to watch the cooking process. (we may have a chef in the making) Once I had to give her a plastic knife and a carrot so she could help me chop veggies. It didn't really do the trick. Grandma Turley had a great idea for a present for Audrie's birthday. It's a cutting set from Melissa & Doug. The veggies, fruits, and breads are held together by velcro and the wooden knife cuts them apart! Sooo clever & Audrie looooves it! So tonight at dinner making time, Audrie was happy to have something to chop up herself! :)

On Friday we took the kids to the amusement park Silver Dollar City in Branson.

It was all decorated for fall & was such a neat park. It was full of shops, yummy treats, and RIDES!!! :)

Lambert's Cafe - Home of Throwed Rolls

We went to Lambert's for dinner
It's known for it's throwed rolls. You stick your hand up in the air and a server throws one at you. It's up to you to catch it, but he is a great pitcher! He'll throw it from across the room and we didn't see too many on the floor. We got a kick out of this! Super fun dinner!

Missouri Day 1 (Travel Day)

Oh what an early morning! We left for the airport at 5:30 AM, but the excitement of travel got us through. Audrie loved the plane!

She loved looking out the window and watching all the lights, but as soon as we were in the air, we were all sleeping :) So the first flight was pretty easy. Second flight Audrie watched a movie and colored and before we knew it, we were in Missouri!

We were sooo excited to get to The Foss Fam's and they were there to greet us. After hugs and hellos, I headed straight to the sink to wash my hands so I could hold that sweet baby Claire! She is super cute and is smiling and making all sorts of cute faces. I love her hair and the cute style they sport her with! She is a doll!

We had a yummy dinner...Thanx again Colleen...she fed us well :) and then it was off to taste the long awaited Andy's frozen custard. It's made fresh hourly and is creamier and more natural tasting. I don't normally loooove ice cream, but I did have this 3 out of the 5 days...Grant had it 4 times :) I must say it is really yummy! Not as sugary sweet...and not so rich. Just right! Wish it would move on west!

We were in Missouri visiting Brad, Colleen, Carter, Spencer, & baby Claire...the Foss Fam. We had such a wonderful time and I have so much to post! But for now I just wanted to say hello and pictures will come soon.

Well I found out from our visit this morning that my dad came home from the ER around 2:30 AM on crutches...he did break his right ankle in three places. His other ankle is fine...just a little sore. He looks great and is feeling pretty good all things considered. The accident didn't happen as close to the time we were headed home from the mall on Fairview (it was around 8:00)...but I am still glad I didn't see anything. We are continuously counting our blessings that he is well!

Papa needs a big bandaid right now...

It's 12:21 and I'm having a bit of a hard time turning my brain off...

We had a fun family night at the mall tonight and were heading home around 8:45...we got home and my brother Jake called us with some scary news. My dad was hit on his motorcycle sometime around 8:50. A car pulled out onto Fairview and didn't see him. He was thrown 25 feet from his bike and rolled. He was wearing his helmet, pants, and a sweatshirt so his injuries were a lot less severe than they could have been. He was taken to St. Al's and found that one ankle has a small chip... and they are x-raying the other one because when he was getting discharged, he couldn't walk on it. (I'm not 100% sure that he went home.) His cat scan came back great. He is soooo good for wearing that helmet!!! He will be pretty bruised and sore tomorrow, but we are sooo grateful that he is not more broken! We love Papa and Audrie was so concerned. She got to visit him in his room with everyone that went back there. She kept saying "Papa owie" and then she would point to her foot. She finally went to sleep after reassuring her that we would go visit him tomorrow and make him cookies. Dad you will be in our prayers! We are so blessed to have you safe tonight! We love you sooo much!

I watched Aniston the other day. Audrie loves to have friends over to play and it's always so much fun to have these two together. We went to the park back by the pool and they had a ball! They were being soooo cute that I had to put them back in the bike trailer to ride back and get my camera...don't leave home without it...EVER! I got some really cute pictures of them. More of Aniston because my girl only looked at the camera once! (Not a normal for this little cheezer) They had a great time exploring and going down the slides. It was a super fun play day!

Last August my mother-in-law and I went to the Josh Groban concert. Soooo fun! I love all songs Josh, but I fell in love with Alla Luce del Sole at the concert. We finally bought Audrie a tricycle of her very own. We have been getting by on a super cute pink & purple bike with training wheels that Grandma Brown found her at a garage sale. It has one of those handles so that we could push her, but she doesn't want to be pushed anymore. She isn't quite ready for a bike...needs something a little lower to the ground :) So we caved and bought her the super cute and very popular radio flyer tricycle. She loooooves it! Wish we would have bought it sooner. Her October birthday is a hard one to wait for!!! So my big girl is riding her 1st bike! It's fun to watch her light up every time she sees it! I don't think I even posted how much Audrie was in love with Toy Story...well time has passed and although she still loves Woody and his friends, she LOVES Cars. When I ask her which movie she wants to watch, she replies with a brrmmm. I have to say I love this movie. I had never seen it until she wanted to watch it and I still am not sick of it. I think Pixar does a great job! She prefers this animation to the older Disney's, but I am sure she will like Princesses soon....right? Anyway these pictures are of her watching her favorite part. I need to get it on video because she laughs LOUD every time. It's when Mack is driving at night and starts to doze off and then shakes away the sleep. She thinks he is pretty funny!

So I always feel bad when I need to fold laundry...sometimes I wish it would just put itself away! I decided to make the time spent in the bedroom more fun for Audrie so we built a fort. Can't believe I didn't think of this sooner because she looooved it! The packn'play was perfect for a little bed and the recliner made a great tunnel to crawl through. She loved crawling in and out and laying down on her pillow. We even used it to hide from dad when he got home from work! It's been up for 3 days now and I don't think it's coming down for a while :)

Family Night @ the Fair

Went to the fair Monday night with Grandma & Grandpa Brown. Audrie loooved to see and hear all the animals. She loves to moo, baaa, sniff (that's her pig noise) & quack! (Today I asked her what her favorite animal at the fair was and she said mooo!) It was fun to be in the largest petting zoo and let her experience sooo many varieties of animals. We really liked watching the goats butt heads and jump around. She thought it was pretty funny. The sheep baaa at all octaves and beg to be scratched. (They are my favorite :) ) It was a lot of fun for Grandma & Grandpa Brown because they said it reminded them of taking me to see all the animals.

Audrie was fascinated by all the lights as the sun when down. The rides were calling her name. She loved driving the car and didn't want to get off. The elephant ride went up in the air and she thought that was a blast! Then to top off a great night, she tasted fair food :) Yummy churros! What a fun family night!

I love Target's $1 section and have found some great little board books and puzzles for Audrie. I bought a shapes, letters, numbers, and states puzzle. The shapes one has been great...she is saying star & moon :) and working on circle & square. It's amazing how she knew where they all went after playing with them for just a little while.

Well the other day, she found where I had put them away (in the drawer of the coffee table) and pulled out the one of the United States. I couldn't resist buying this one for future use. I peeked in on her and found her like this...

Anyway the syringe always helps and she thinks it's funny. Then my favorite is a little Vick's baby rub...some snuggles and some kisses = she is asleep right now! (It's 9:00!!!) Hopefully she stays comfortable.

Audrie (and Mom & Dad) had a very rough night last night. She hasn't been sleeping well as I have told many of you...sorry for unloading my frustrations...and last night top it all off. She fell asleep around 9:30 (was soooo happy about that!) but then was awake every 10 minutes or so until 11:00. Then we went to bed at 11:30 and just as you are starting that wonderful thing called deep sleep, a cry at 1:15 wakes us up. She was ready to get up for the day, bear in one hand blanket in the other and full of chatter. (It was pretty funny because a few of her phrases included "dang it"...taught by her dear dad) Loooong story sort, she was off and on asleep until finally giving up at 3:45ish! And surprisingly enough, we are both functioning a whole lot better today than we ever thought we would. I guess you can get by with ten minutes here twenty minutes there and then a few hours. I know parents have many sleepless nights...somehow we need to make them fun...cause last night was not fun hahaha!!!

Then this morning our little darling had a stuffy nose...doesn't explain the silly willy we dealt with last night, but it does explain not wanting to sleep well. So today we are laying low. I make a yummy smootie certain days Audrie doesn't want to eat well, but today she couldn't suck through the straw so we turned it into popsicles. She is super happy with her easy going day of Cars and popsicles. Feel better soon baby!

Wednesday night we went to Petsmart and let Audrie see the dogs, cats, birds, and fish. She loved all the fish and Grant...being the spoiler that he is...said "Let's get a fish for Audrie's room." So we bought the tank and got it all set up which was super exciting to Audrie without the fish. Then Saturday, we went to pick out her goldfish. We decided he needed a friend so we came home with two! Luckily fish are not very high maintenance or else I don't know how I would have felt about a Grant an Audrie, a dog, and 2 fish ;) haha I really do like fish. I had one when we worked at the old office and they are fun to have. Plus we were hoping that they would some how keep Audrie company in her room...so far they don't help. But they have been a highlight to the bedtime routine. It even serves as a night light until she falls asleep.

Taking it all in...she really was excited and wouldn't even give me a smile cause she was so locked on all the fish tanks.

Audrie found her snack cupboard the other day. She pulls a chair up to the counter climbs up and if I spot her she looks at me all innocently and rambles off something as she open the door. Then she gives me the cutest face and I can't resist giving into her new favorite num num. I mean could you resist that smiley girl?!?! Oh she has found her sweet tooth.

I usually mix them with cereal, raisins, pretzels, etc. But it's a lot easier to eat them right out of the bag! These are sooooo yummy mom!!!

My baby only has 2 more months until she is 2!!!!

Audrie is 22 months...we have her saying "two two" :) She is sooo ready to be two. Have I mentioned that she never wants to say one...nope just skips to two. Grant thinks that it's because we start with one and she comes in with two and three (he is so logical like that). It makes sense, but I have the feeling that she just wants to be big. See she normally will repeat words if you say "can you say____." Not with one...just won't do it. hahaha!!! She is growing and learning new things and I just watch her love every aspect of life. Just today she walked out of our bedroom with me and saw some of her blocks on the floor and said "Oh Wow!" She makes this exclamation a lot through the day and it is one of the grandparent's favorite things that she says. Small example, but it just goes to show how much children looove the simplest things. I made the comment, "If only I could see through the eyes of this child." I love her to pieces and I am going to hold on tight to these last few months I have of her being 1....sniff sniff!

We have been in a desperate struggle for the last month trying to keep nap time. I usually win, after an hour of resisting, but I do win. Today counts 3 days of loosing!!! I've tried our normal 1:00...pushed it to 2:00....and even will give her until 3:30, but she just doesn't give up.

Well Thursday night she and I sat down for dinner for 2 (dad was out with grandma for her birthday) and she gobbled up her salmon...a few bites of rice...a drink of milk....and then she did the funniest "can't get comfy wiggle" and then she crashed!

I wish I would have had the camera when she was going down, but I was able to record what super duper tired sounds like! (Turn off the music...it's not very loud)

I told Grant that I didn't want her to be comfy if she wasn't going to nap in her crib....I couldn't resist resting her sweet little head so she could catch a quick nap before we had to leave. I think I may be a bit of a softy!!! Oh well she melts my heart!

Pool Party

We are watching Aunt Jenni's doggies and Audrie is having a ball!!! She filled up her pool yesterday and little did we know it was going to turn into a pool party! Jenni told me that her dogs like the sprinklers...but I didn't know they LOVED the water. Audrie loved playing with them especially since her dog would rather watch from inside. hahaha Notice his absence from all the pictures.

One More Sweet Moment...

I know....4 posts today! A lot of little sweet moments that I can't pass up.

This one is about Papa Brown. He loves to come over on his motorcycle and the last trip he made, he came over to spoil. He had four little pockets at the bottom of his shorts that were each filled with a little wind up toy for Audrie! She looooved to find the prizes and loooooved the wind up toys. One was a ladybug that spins in circles, a dog that does back flips, a goldfish that swims, and those teeth that chatter together. She loved jumping with the doggie and grandpa teased that the teeth were going to get her toes so she squealed as they came towards her. It was a fun surprise for her and it made her day! Thanx Again Papa!!!

Well we were going over to Grandma & Grandpa Brown's for a short visit today and I couldn't come with empty pockets...especially since Audrie had on super cute ones with little zipper pockets just like Papa! When I told her what we were doing she was excited and patted her pockets for me to fill them up. We hid little chocolate kisses and let Papa share them with Audrie.

It was tooooo cute! Love to share sweet moments!

Poor Audrie got her first taste of bug bites last night. We were at Grandma & Grandpa Turley's and she was playing outside in the 7 o'clock hour...thought the bugs wouldn't be out yet with the heat...I was way wrong and didn't come prepared!!! I felt so bad when she woke up with 5 bumps!!! I jumped on Google and found a home remedy for the itching. Baking soda and vinegar made into a paste. It dries fast and seemed to do the trick. Hopefully they won't bug her as much as they bug me. I hate mosquitoes!!!

Well we went to Grandma & Grandpa's again tonight and mom brought the good stuff....bug repellent without the nasty chemicals! If you have a little one, I recommend this stuff. No bug bites tonight! YEAH!!!

The ingredients: Soybean Oil, Cinnamon Leaf Oil, Lemongrass Oil, and Geranium Oil!

Franklin.Karson.Chelsea

We have some crazy kiddos who love to go super fast in the tube...Franklin, Karson, & Chelsea were being pulled by Grant and they kept wanting to go faster. Who better to deliver a wild ride than Uncle Grant!!! He found some huge rollers and took these kids on the ride of their life! Uncle Doug took these amazing pictures and put them in a play by play collage. Yes! These kids really went that high out of the water and survived! They all held on so tight and little 6 year old Karson flew up out of her seat, but didn't let go!!! Franklin and Chelsea on the ends amazingly didn't get thrown out the sides. We were all in shock when they landed and were okay. In fact they were so excited and now have an awesome story to tell! Way to go kids!!!

Our Turley Family Getaway

We have been beach bums for the past few weeks. We went up to Donnelly, ID for our annual Turley Family Getaway. We love being able to spend multiple days right by the water and we just play all day long. Audrie had a blast! She loved having her cousins Carter & Spencer here and the three were together all the time. She played so hard that she had a hard time knowing when to quit.
Bad habit #1 - refusing to take a nap. She would just go go go and not want to stop. I tried so hard to keep our schedule, but with too much excitement going on around us, I failed.
Bad habit #2- climbing out of her play pen. OH NO!!! I knew that she would figure it out sooner or later! I just wanted it to be much much later!!! She is our monkey. So this made us have to hold her or lay down with her...naps and bedtime! (Not my ideal way because I had plans to scrapbook during naps, but I did enjoy the snuggle time) Bad habit #3 - bring it ALL home!!! First night home what did she do as soon as we finished our bedtime routine? Climbed right out of the crib! Oh the panic as I saw my life of easy nap time and bedtime vanish. Yes a week later and we are still struggling (Which will deserve another post soon!) But you know...she had sooooo much fun and we made sooo many memories it was worth all the stress. So when I see these pictures of her playing in the sand, water, and with our family, I am happy and would never trade the time for anything.

The 4th of July was a great day! We had a BBQ and went to McCall for the fireworks. Audrie didn't like them so much. It was funny because she would bury her face and peek through her fingers, but she didn't cover her ears. I think she thought it was strange to see such light in the sky. She loved being held by everyone and I loved capturing the cute moments she had in dad's arms.

We love the lake!!! And there were a lot of 1st for Audrie. It was her 1st time really riding the jet ski (Last year we put her on and went really slow). She loved when we would go fast and the faster we went the higher the squeal got. She loves the boat and likes to watch whoever is being pulled and she loves to drive with dad. It was her 1st time behind the boat in the tube. I was a little worried that she wouldn't like it once we started to go, but she had a ball! She would put her hands up and scream wooooo! She did not want to get out when our turn was over either. How fun these things must be to someone still experiencing life for the 1st time. I loved watching her sweet little face light up when we would ask her if she wanted to go on the jet ski or the tube. It's a wonderful thing to be a parent and share fun experiences with your child.

These are just some random pictures throughout the week. There was a lot of playing with the dogs, yummy treats, and coloring. I think this may have been the best week of Audrie's life so far. I love her and can't wait to share more wonderful times with this sweet little girl!

Hey! We are still recovering from vacation...it's sad that I have to do that! We had our Turley Family Getaway last week in Donnelly and I took so many pictures that it is taking me forever to upload and get my posts together. We had a great time....lots of memories made...and some bad habits brought home (I will explain later). So I have a lot of catching up to do. Stay tuned...

I am new to So You Think You Can Dance and I love it! Our shows are on break in the summer so I have to have something to watch! Especially since Grant is gone for meetings & basketball.
I already have favorites...Chelsie Hightower & Mark Kanemura! I think they will do well and are probably favorites of most people. I don't know if it's the former cheerleader in me (who couldn't ever really dance), but I love watching dance. Some people can really move and I find it amazing!

What a cute...quirky dance! I don't know exactly what it was but it moved me.

Dada's Day!!!

Happy Dada's Day!!! Audrie just loves her dada and had a fun time giving him his gifts this morning. She gave him pictures and Tiger Woods 2008 for PS3. Mom gave him perfect push ups and some nice shorts. Audrie learned to do push ups today...sooo funny I will get pictures soon. She helped me make breakfast and we had a good morning together. Then between too short of a nap, church, refusing to eat her dinner, and not getting to do exactly what she wanted...we experienced a few tantrums that were not fun. I guess we are headed towards 2...but we got through and it was all better when we got to see both Papas. We love our dad's and are grateful to have such wonderful men in our lives. Happy Father's Day! (All the I love yous and mushy stuff we save for cards :) )

Rain can't stop the fun

We went to the park yesterday afternoon even though we saw the clouds coming. Audrie just loves the park and doesn't care if it's rain or shine. We all put on our hoods and luckily it only sprinkled on us, but our seats got all wet from the slides! hahaha! Audrie loves to swing and go down the slides. She even showed us her little monkey abilities when she was hanging from one of the bars above the slide. She pulled that little split and about scared me, but she just kept swinging. I'm going to have to put her in gymnastics soon so she can learn to be a safe monkey! We had a good time and can't wait for the good weather that is headed our way!!!

A Baby & A Wedding

We had a fun filled day Saturday. We were able to go visit Tyler & Amanda Cornia who just had their first baby, Eva Cornia . She is beautiful and so snuggly to hold. She makes all these cute little faces. Audrie just loved seeing her. Congratulations Tyler & Amanda!!!

We also were able to attend the wedding of my cousin Hailey and her new hubby Curtis. Congratulations Hailey & Curtis!!! I just love a good wedding! :) Hailey looked beautiful! What a special day!

Audrie loved being at the temple. She walked up...and down...and up the temple grounds. I loved seeing this little girl next to this big, beautiful temple!

Audrie turned the big 20 months on Friday! Wow time seems to be picking up speed! She is in a very cute and sometimes crazy stage. We love her personality. She is a bubble of fun! Some of her favorite things...

* giving hugs and kisses

* playing hide and seek

* saying "mom", "dad / dada", "mama" = grandma, "papa" and can point them out in pictures

* yelling "mom! Mom! MOM!" or "dad! Dad! DAD!" until she gets our FULL attention.

* waving to the kids on the school bus

* making all her animal noises

* cleaning just about any surface in the house with a wet wipe in each hand

* flying high up in the air and balancing on dad's hand as high as he can reach

* doing a few yoga moves

* making that silly face Grant taught her

* telling Prince no no! and sometimes us :( We are trying to lovingly correct that.

* reading lots and lots of books

* jumping in her crib...it started a few days ago!!!

* working on recognizing letters - she can say "O" "Mmmm...M", "tatata..T", and "P"

* And...she can say her name now!!!

I am sure I am forgetting many, but I had to get some down because 18 - 20 months has been a kick. Grant and I sometimes just look at each other and laugh because she cracks us up!
Oh and she has the sweetest voice when she talks to you...she is talking full on (just don't always know what she is saying):) We do know a new phrase she says. We take the dog on a walk everyday and I always say "Prince do you want to go on a walk?" and my voice gets higher at the end. She picked up the phrase and tone. She pats her leg and asks Prince over and over until he has his leash on. It's soooo cute that I giggle every time! She also does it when she wants you to come sit by her. She pats the place next to her and says something like "You wanna ....pat pat here?"
She continues to amaze us! We are blessed to have such a dollie for an Audrie!

Chef Turley Masters the Grill!

Grant can be full of surprises! Yesterday afternoon, he walked in the door with a few grocery bags and I wondered what he had needed from the store. He said his famous "Don't worry about it" and I did my normal prying...peeking into bags and asking questions. He caved and told me "Chef Turley is making dinner!" :) How sweet! He loves to work on his grilling skills and this time he outdid himself. He bought cedar planks for a salmon filet and a steak. (He knows the way to his girl's hearts....some yummy salmon!) Let's just say if you haven't tried cooking with cedar planks, try it! I am a huge salmon fan and this beat a lot of restaraunt experiences!
It was a yummy meal!

Yesterday we caught a few good hours outside before another big thunder storm rolled through. We decided that it was good enough weather to test out a swimming pool. Audrie loved it!!! She helped fill it up and slowly but surely grew comfortable to the outdoor bath (not used to the water being so cold) :) We haven't been to the neighborhood pool yet with the weather being so off and on. This private pool will be nice for her to splash in on some of those not so sure days...like today again!

I've been meaning to post these pictures. Audrie loves her doggie. Prince is her little buddy, when she plays nice. She learned to say dog next to mama and dada. I believe it was her third word...lucky for mom it didn't come before her :) She loves to play catch and give him treats when he is a good boy. I love that she has grown up around dogs and has a love for animals.

Audrie's Pebble's pigtail has grown so much. I just couldn't resist to put both of them in matching pigtails and see if I could get a picture of them together. Can you believe I was able to get both of them to "sit"? And Prince was actually easier to get to "stay" :) Don't worry I took the girlie pigtail out of my boy dog's hair before anyone...or any other dog could see!

Watching a summer storm for the 1st time

We had days of summer last weekend and now it has all gone away. It's windy...rainy...and cold! However, it was an unexpected 1st experience for Audrie yesterday. We were enjoying a nice morning outside, naptime, and then back outside in the afternoon when I thought I heard thunder far away. We were playing together on the porch when it slowly started to rain and the thunder became louder. Audrie hasn't heard thunder before or been out in the rain. I loved watching her feel it hit her arms and head and wonder how she was getting wet. Then when the thunder would boom, she would hurry over to me and I would explain to her what it was. I thought she might be scared of it, but she sat with me and watched for a long time. It was a fun summer storm.

Part 2 - Poor Birdies!

We didn't find this bird and her nest until it started raining...and then it started to rain even harder. We felt so bad because she built her nest totally in the wrong place...our rain gutter with no cover from the wind, rain, or sun. Grant tried to help get some of the water out of the gutter, but it really wasn't much help because it kept raining. She got off her nest at one point and we could see that there are two babies. We hope they make it through all this crazy weather.
